Salt Spray Test
Salt spray test is a standardized corrosion test method, used to check corrosion resistance of metallic materials surface (although ceramics, stone and polymers may also be tested) and finished with a surface coating to the underlying metal. Applicable standards are ASTM-B117, ISO 9844. URS have Salt spray test instrument with 1 m³ capacity and automated features, complies as per International Standards.
Vibration Tests are conducted to reproduce Vibration Environment to exposes products in real use vibration applications and check there functionality under those condition. URS lab have Vibration facility upto 1500kgf Sine, 1500kgf Random and 3000kgf Shock Force Rating with 5 Hz – 3200 Hz Frequency Range and 38mm(p-p) displacement, 90g Acceleration. The system supported with horizontal slip table and vertical load support enable to execute x,y and z direction effectively.
Endurance tests are typically done to check the ability of the product to withstand the expected processing load for a longer period. Monitoring is also done to determine potential failures under potential simulated conditions for a specific period & for a certain threshold. URS have test facility for endurance test for Microwave oven doors, fans, switches, lighting equipment, etc
Thermal Shock test is carried out to simulate the test condition in which product face severe temperature change in short period of time. this differential expansion affects the product characteristics and thermal shock test understand the product behaviour on those condition. URS have test facility for thermal shock test in wide range of temperature condition.
Ingress Protection (IP) tests are performed to determine the level of protection from water, and dust in order to verify the product acceptability for use in outdoor or industrial applications. IP test validates that the product’s enclosure will withstand moisture and dust condition and function properly. Applicable standards are IS/IEC 60529. URS have NABL accreditation upto IP66.
URS lab have test facility for safety and functional parameters of various product, as per IS/IEC standards such as Protection from Hazards, Electric Shock, Over Current and Earth Fault Protection, Touch Current. Heating under Normal Operating Conditions, Insulation Resistance, Surge Test, Insulation Resistance, Dielectric Strength, Mechanical Strength etc.
Dry Heat Test is conducted to determine heat resistance property and working performance of a product under specified temperature. Damp Heat Test includes humidity treatment at specific temperature. URS have testing facility to conduct these test with Conditioning chamber and Hot Air Oven of different size/specification.
Surge Test is conducted to determine the capability of a product to withstand on high voltage/voltage spike in circuit during normal operation. Impulse test is also a high voltage test with defined pulse rise and fall time. these test are important to under the product insulation properties. URS have 10 KV Impulse Tester and 15 KV Surge Tester.
Information Technology Equipment – Safety Part-1 General Requirements : This standard is applicable for general requirement of safety aspects of Information Technology Equipment, which may be mains-powered or battery-powered including electrical business equipment and associated equipment, with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 Volts. Intended requirement of this standard is to reduce risk of electric shock, risks of fire or injury for the operator and user who may come into contact with the equipment.
Audio Video and Similar Electronic Apparatus – Safety Requirements : This standard applies to electronics apparatus designed to be fed from mains, from batteries and from a supply apparatus intended for reception, generation, recording or reproduction of audio, video and associated signal respectively. This standard concern only safety aspects of the above apparatus; it does not concern other details, such as style or performance.
Safety of Household and similar Electrical Appliances – Microwave Ovens : This standard applies to microwave ovens for household and similar use with rated voltage being not more than 250V. As for practicable, this standards deals with the safety aspects and common hazards presented by appliance that are encountered by all person, in and around the home.
Safety of Household and similar Electrical Appliances – Particular Requirements for Clocks : This standards deals with Safety of Electronics Clocks having a rated voltage not more than 250V. As for as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliance that are encountered by all persons in and around the home.
Stationary Storage Type Electric Water Heaters – This standard covers the general, safety and performances requirements of Stationary Storage Type Electric Water Heater for household and similar purpose and their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single phase appliances and 415 V for other appliances.
Specification for Electric Instantaneous Water Heater : This standard covers general, safety and performance requirements of electric instantaneous water heaters up to 3 litres capacity for heating water to a temperature below boiling point.
